Spain is developing an international plastics sector whose main challenge in the coming years will be to prove its ability to export and compete in world markets. Even though Spain's per capita consumption of plastics--at 63.2 kg--allows room for growth in local consumption, much of the new capacity construction will need to find a home overseas.
