A blood donor has criticised a council for charging people to park when they go to give blood.
Jeff Keighley, 36, who has been a regular donor since 1993, has said people wanting to attend donor sessions at the Athenaeum, in Bury St Edmunds, could be put off by the price of parking on Angel Hill.
He called for St Edmundsbury Borough Council to allow free parking for anyone displaying their appointment letter
"Donors give freely of their time to the region," said Mr Keighley, of Woodcrofts Close, Brockley. "You can bet your life that some patient in the region is benefiting somehow due to a unit of blood donated in Bury.
