MORPETH'S iconic Town Hall could soon be a blend of old and new under extension plans.
Part of the Town Hall restoration works, which will cost approximately [pounds sterling]4.2m in total, includes a proposal for an extra state-of-the-art building on the back of the existing near 300-year-old structure.
It would contain space for activities, a lift, a second entrance to the Hall at Newmarket and access to the main public spaces at ground and first floor level.
And users and visitors would also be able to enjoy a view across the market town from the roof terrace.
