ROPLEY got off to a great start with the opening bowling combination of Alex Portz and Bobby Wood making good use of the hard track, removing opener Ambler in the third over.

With tight bowling and two further wickets in the 12th over, Leckford were reduced to 33-3. But a fourth-wicket stand of 94 between Thompson and Smithson saw the game tilt in favour of the home side.
