Hospital beds from Sunderland Royal are heading to Africa to help make a difference.
Engineering company Grundfos, in Castletown, has funded the shipping of five containers of more than 400 old hospital beds to medical centres in Tanzania and South Africa.
The beds and matresses were donated to Grundfos by Sunderland Royal Hospital, where the old-style beds are being replaced with new electronic ones.
Grundfos - along with some help from Sunderland Minster - is sending the beds to people who need them.
