FAMILIES can enjoy a taste of medieval jousting at Scarborough Castle this weekend.
In a spectacular display of epic ceremony, chivalry and combat, King Henry VIII and his entourage will take part in a grand Tudor tournament complete with mounted skill-at-arms and the event highlight - a genuine Tudor joust!
"Unlike many modern joust re-creations the lances used will not be tipped with balsa but will be a single piece of wood - packing a real punch when they contact with the wooden shields and 5mm thick, steel helmets," said Jon Hogan, regional events manager of English Heritage.
