James B. "Jim" Johnson
Graveside services for James B. "Jim" Johnson, 81, of Fort Worth, Texas, will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Born Sept. 2, 1926, in Elgin, to Ruth Strauss and Clayton B. Johnson, he died peacefully Friday, Aug. 1, 2008. Jim Johnson, a retired pharmacist, graduated from Elgin High School in 1944 and immediately enlisted as an aviation cadet in the Army Air Corps. After being discharged he worked at Morse's Drug Store in Elgin. Ruth and Orville Morse's daughter, June, came home from college the summer of 1946 and met Jim. It was love at first sight.
