SPRINGFIELD - With a green light from three local governments this month, the development group behind the Richard E. Wildish Community Theater is moving closer to erasing its debt and establishing a new, nonprofit corporation to operate the theater.
The Springfield School Board's unanimous vote Monday cleared the way for Superintendent Nancy Golden and board Chairman Garry Weber to finalize and sign an agreement among the school district, the city of Springfield, the Willamalane Park and Recreation District and the Springfield Renaissance Development Corporation, which opened the theater in 2006.
