BOSTON - It was, to say the least, a crazy few days around here, but the Red Sox settled back into their season nicely this weekend with a three-game sweep of the Athletics.
Behind a six-inning effort from Daisuke Matsuzaka and a pair of RBIs each from Jed Lowrie and Coco Crisp, the Red Sox polished off Oakland in a 5-2 victory yesterday at Fenway Park.
The Red Sox finished the nine-game homestand, which, among other activities, included a series sweep by the Angels and the trading of Manny Ramirez, 4-5. The Sox are 3-0 in the post-Manny era.
