BIRMINGHAM athlete Kelly Sotherton is used to training her body on a daily basis. But the idea of training her eyes was a new one.

Yet Birchfield Harrier Kelly is the first to admit that it just may have had its benefits.

A visual assessment in October of last year revealed that Kelly had a slight problem with her binocular vision caused by her eyes working independently of each other.

While for most people this problem would be so slight it would make little difference in daily life, Kelly was determined to do all she could as she goes for gold at the Beijing Olympics this month.
