IBM has announced plans to build a $360 million data center at its facility in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The data center will include new technologies and services that will enable IBM to deliver cloud computing capabilities.
Cloud computing uses advanced technologies and global delivery mechanisms to enable individuals to access information and services from any device.
The company said the clients using this center will have access to internet-scale computing capabilities, while gaining the cost and environmental protection advantages of IBMs energy efficiency data center design.
