Yorks chain bans smoking in all its pubs

THE FIRST smoke-free pub chain in the UK has been created by Yorkshire-based Market Town Taverns.
The company's only remaining pub where smoking was still permitted, the Tithe Bar & Brasserie, Northallerton, became smoke-free this week, giving the niche-market group a "full house" of smoke-free premises.
Market Town Taverns, which is based in Knaresborough, has nine pubs throughout North and West Yorkshire. A tenth no-smoking tavern is due to open in North Yorkshire this spring.
