Council staff investigate as warden gives civic limo a ticket
By DAVID MARSH
Municipal Reporter
A TRAFFIC warden knew just what he had to do when he found a flash car parked in a restricted zone behind Leeds Town Hall.
With a flourish of his pen, he performed his duty and slapped a ticket on the offending vehicle.
There was only one problem - it was the Lord Mayor's official limousine.
The distinctive silver-grey stretch limo - number plate U1 - was parked outside while the Lord Mayor, Coun Bill Hyde, greeted visitors to a Town Hall open day in aid of his civic charities, The Heartbeat Appeal and St George's Crypt.
