CITY centre residents are calling for action over the lack of basic healthcare services near their homes.
The increase in developments in Leeds means there are now around 8,000 people living in the centre - compared with an estimated 4,500, seven years ago.
But the glamorous image of city-centre dwelling is far removed from the reality of being forced to travel miles to see a GP or even to pick up basic groceries.
City and Hunslet councillor Mohammed Iqbal has been bombarded with complaints from frustrated residents and has appealed to the health authority to solve the problem.
Coun Iqbal (Lab) said: "Leeds ...
