LEEDS-based supermarket chain Asda is to stop selling North Sea cod.
The chain has already banned the sale of shark, skate wings, ling, dog fish and Dover sole because stocks are under threat and will stop selling swordfish within four months.
It will suspend the sale of North Sea cod while it works closely with EU Fisheries and the North Sea Regional Advisory Committee to establish a stock recovery plan. It will label the rest of its fish, revealing where it was caught and by which country.
