Tributes to detective killed on climb near Ben Nevis

A FATHER-OF-ONE died after plunging 300 metres down a mountain while on a climbing holiday with two police colleagues.
Senior officers today paid tribute to Det Sgt Darren Simpson, 40, married with a four-year-old daughter, following yesterday's death on a mountain range near Ben Nevis, in the Scottish Highlands.
Snow on the mountain range is several feet deep in places.
Two close friends who were with him, Sgts Paul Hobson and Paul Campbell, who are both based in Leeds, were unhurt but were helped to safety by a mountain rescue ...
