Conservationists call for more green space

CONSERVATIONISTS are calling for a "Park Square-type" open space at the heart of a [pounds sterling]700m development which will transform a key area of Leeds city centre.
Developers Town Centre Securities and Hammerson - who have formed the Leeds Partnership to carry out the development - are this month expected to submit a planning application for the city's Eastgate-Harewood Quarter.
The scheme will cover more than eight hectares either side of Eastgate. It includes a John Lewis department store, 600 apartments, 2,500 car parking spaces, cinemas, ...
