Tenants pay to get it cut themselves

IT could be described as a growing problem ...
In part of Leeds, council tenants are having to stump up their own cash to pay gardeners to cut their grass which they say is out of control, as they cannot wait any longer for council contractors to turn up.
Jean Rowley, 77, could not get to her washing line at the end of her back garden in Swillington because the grass had reached six foot high.
The retired lollipop lady from St Aidan's Road, Great Preston, said: "They haven't been to cut the grass in my back garden this year at all.
"I paid a handyman [pounds ...
