28 arrested in police red light operation
By Jo Rostron
FOURTEEN kerbcrawlers have admitted trawling Leeds' red light district for prostitutes after being snared in a major police sting.
A Gulf War veteran, an IT consultant, a student and a limousine driver were among those who pleaded guilty at Leeds magistrates court yesterday.
A total of 28 men were arrested and charged following the crackdown which saw an undercover woman officer dressed in "non-provocative" clothing walk through the Water Lane area in Holbeck.
Complaints
Yesterday saw the highest number of suspects brought before any court in Yorkshire in one day.
