LITTLE Alfie McKinlay's sweet tooth left a sour taste in his dad's mouth when he was slapped with a [pounds sterling]50 fine after his son dropped a sweet in the street.
Alfie and his dad Craig were in Pontefract Market last week when he dropped the sweet on the floor.
A council patroller spotted the sweet and handed Mr McKinlay, of Pinewood Place, Knottingley, an instant fine.
The furious father said: "It's ridiculous. How can they expect a two-year-old to be able to put litter in the bin? And it was a sweet, not litter - it wouldn't have been long before the pigeons ate it."
