THE brother of a Leeds man on death row in Pakistan has received assurances of diplomatic intervention at the "highest possible level" in the fight to save his life.
Mirza Tahir Hussain's brother, Amjad, travelled to London yesterday for a meeting with the head of the Foreign Office's consular section.
He was updated about the progress of negotiations between the Government and the authorities in Pakistan after 36-year-old was granted a further stay of execution until October 1.
