A staggering 1,373 convicted sex offenders live in West Yorkshire, a new report shows.
Of the 1,373 registered sex offenders in the county, 512 are in Leeds - with a further 272 in Kirklees, 207 in Wakefield and Pontefract, and 118 in Calderdale.
Fourteen of the 1,373 total were the most serious offenders who were considered to pose an "imminent risk" to the public.
The figures are contained in a report by the West Yorkshire Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (Mappa) agency whose role is to "manage" offenders released into the community.
The figures put West Yorkshire in ninth place ...
