A North Yorkshire MP has emerged as one of the most expensive in the country, claiming almost [pounds sterling]151,000 in expenses during the past year.
Selby MP John Grogan topped the league for the whole of Yorkshire with his claim of [pounds sterling]150,984, which was bumped up by high travel expenses of [pounds sterling]19,642.
Mr Grogan, who retained Selby for Labour in last year's General Election with a majority of just 467, often travels between his constituency and London twice a week.
The highest claim in the country was [pounds sterling]174,811 by Eric Joyce, the MP for Falkirk in Scotland.
