Tony Blair was today presenting his final programme for new laws in the Queen's Speech in Parliament, before he steps down as Prime Minister.
The Government's legislative programme for the coming year, which will be outlined by the Queen at the state opening of Parliament, was expected to be dominated by Home Office legislation.
Tougher sentencing for serious criminals, new anti-terrorism measures and a crackdown on organised crime were expected to be in it.
