CARERS in Leeds are to be rewarded for giving so much to others.
Social Services has awarded over [pounds sterling]2,000 in extra cash to three voluntary groups so the carers can enjoy some perks.
They are: Holbeck Elderly Aid; ASHA neighbourhood project in Beeston (mainly for Bangladeshi and Pakistani women and children); and the Windmill Club and Drop-In Centre at Courthouse Street, Otley.
The money will be spent on activities like day trips and a weekend break in Dublin.
