FORMER Yorkshire cricketer Geoff Boycott is recovering from a serious illness.
Yorkshire and England's former opening batsman suffered problems with arteries in his leg but is said to be recovering.
A close friend said he had undergone an operation just after Christmas.
"It became serious for a while," said the friend.
Boycott has a home in Paarl in Western Cape in South Africa.He also has a home on the island of Jersey.
He continues to play an influential role in the running of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
