High Point, N.C.--There may be no such thing as a free lunch, but free lamps, clocks, calculators, fans and photo frames abounded in "value-added" packages and multifunction styles offered to lamp buyers this market.
New safety features presented by two halogen lamp suppliers sparked interest, as did "giftable" merchandise such as small accent lamps from china manufacturers and Victorian-look illuminated accessories intended to spur sales during the back half of the year.
