The Florida Insurance Department has reached a settlement of its charges against Daniel "Rick" Urso, the former Metropolitan Life agent who has been a central figure in that company's deceptive sales practices scandal.
In exchange for agreeing to let his license to sell annuities expire on September 1 and not to use it until the, the DOI will drop its charges against him, according to Betsy Singer of Lazzara & Paul, Tampa, one of Mr. Urso's attorneys.
However, if Mr. Urso elects to apply again for a life insurance or annuity license in Florida, the charges themselves would not come back to life, but all of the transcripts and depositions taken in this case ...
