Shares of Meggitt Plc, the British maker of engine-monitoring systems for Airbus SAS and Boeing Co. airliners, rose the most in more than six years in London trading after saying the purchase of K&F Industry Holdings Inc. added to first-half profit.

The company owns what is now called Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems Corp. in Akron. The subsidiary makes components for commercial and military aircraft. Meggitt bought Aircraft Braking Systems in March 2007 as part of a $1.1 billion deal.
