A MOTHER called today for those who commit acts of violence to see the devastation caused by their actions.
Gerda Best (64) saw her son desperately battle back to health after suffering horrific injuries in an unprovoked attack, only to lose him when he committed suicide.
Tom Best had everything to live for on the night he took a stroll across Stanley Road Recreation Ground, in central Peterborough, with his girlfriend in September 2001.
In the space of just a few seconds, however, his hopes for the future disappeared in a rain of blows from a piece of wood wielded by 22-year-old Lee Graham, who was sentenced to eight years after the attack.
