FALLING visitor numbers at Peterborough's Tourist Information Centre have prompted the council to consider plans to move the centre to a more prominent position in the city.
The centre is currently situated inside Minster Precincts, in the beautiful environs of Peterborough Cathedral.
The picturesque setting was considered an ideal location when the service was moved to the site in 2000 from its previous location in Bridge Street.
But in the six years since it moved, the numbers of enquiries the service has received has dropped from 173,024 per year to 105,002.
