HIGH-ranking clergymen from across Peterborough will recreate one of Jesus' last acts at a special event this week.
The Bishop of Peterborough will join priests on the Guildhall steps in Cathedral Square to shine the shoes of members of the public.
The event forms part of the city's Maundy Thursday celebrations, part of the Christian Holy Week.
Christians remember Maundy Thursday as the day of the Last Supper, when Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. He then told them to follow his example and go and do likewise.
The night of Maundy Thursday is the night on which Jesus was betrayed by Judas.
