CRITICS can no longer point the finger and brand Peterborough a cultural desert - for the city has been named as home to one of the UK's favourite landmarks.
Peterborough Cathedral has come sixth in the latest Top 10 UK Landmarks list - ahead of London's Tower Bridge and Liverpool's Royal Liver Building.
Described as a "photographer's dream", tens of thousands of people travel to the city's minster precincts to visit the ornate building.
The first abbey was established at Peterborough in around 655 AD - and it has been a site of Christian worship ever since.
