THE new Abbey College opened its doors to pupils this week as the school year started.
The new school, in Ramsey, is the amalgamation of the town's Ailwyn and Abbey schools.
It now caters for pupils aged between 11 and 18 - for the first time taking youngsters in the area from their first year in secondary school straight through to their
A-levels.
The site has been a hive of activity throughout the summer holidays, with contractors making adaptations to buildings and infrastructure, and school staff preparing for the pupils' arrival.
