PREPARATIONS for the city's big Christmas show were thrown into chaos after six of the main costumes were stolen.
On the eve of the press launch for the Key Theatre's Beauty and The Beast production, the thieves struck while the costumes were in storage at the Theatre Royal in Lincoln.
The [pounds sterling]3,000 costumes included the outfits for all the main characters, but today the Key's artistic director Michael Cross insisted that the show must go on.
He said: "I couldn't believe it when I heard - literally the day before the press launch for the show and we have no costumes for all the main characters.
