The city's jaded Werrington shopping Centre is to get a much-needed shot in the arm in a bid to stamp out anti-social behaviour.

Councillors want the Werrington Centre, off Skater's Way, to be returned to its former glory when it was once the "jewel in the crown" of the new Werrington township.

This week they met the centre's owner for face to face talks about what the complex needs to prevent it sliding into rack and ruin.

A raft of improvements has been promised, including better lighting, more CCTV cameras and landscaping.

Toilets that have been closed for two years could be re-opened and used for something else, while empty units ...
