DOGS may be a man's best friend, but anyone who has had the misfortune to tread in their mess while out and about may think otherwise.
So to rid our streets of canine waste, Peterborough city council challenged youngsters to come up with a design for a dog fouling bag.
Emelia-Jade Coleman, who has just transferred to Highlees Primary School from Southfields Junior School, had her dazzling drawing chosen out of 72 high-class entries to win the competition.
The city council is urging dog owners to bag and bin fouling mess made by their four-legged friends as it is a serious health and environmental problem.
