BOATS crowded the moorings on a busy waterway in protest at funding cutbacks which could see rivers and canals being neglected.
Shoppers, boat fans and residents watched as boats and barges came to a standstill beneath the town bridge over the River Nene, in March.
The protest was in support of a nationwide drive to try and stop vital funding for British Waterways and the Environment Agency being axed by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).
