WHEN a bunch of city youngsters heard how little Madeleine McCann had gone missing while on holiday with her family in Portugal, their hearts went out.
The thought that the same horrific thing could have happened to their families prompted them to do their bit in a desperate appeal to find her.
The group of eight, aged between 13 and 26, went around their Orton neighbourhood delivering hundreds of missing leaflets in a bid to prompt anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
Madeleine (4) has been missing from the Praia da Luz resort in south west Portugal since 10pm on May 3.
