RED SOX 8, ROYALS 2
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The trade of Manny Ramirez a week ago fulfilled the Red Sox' hysteria quotient for at least a couple more days.
Maybe, just maybe, everybody can calm down a little, now that Jacoby Ellsbury, not to mention Tim Wakefield, is rising to the occasion.
Ellsbury's terrific running catch in the fifth inning snuffed out the Royals' one and only rally last night. He then put the exclamation point on the Sox' once-again balanced and dangerous attack - they scored all their runs with two outs - with a three-run home run over the 410-foot mark in center in the seventh to seal the deal in an 8-2 victory.
