Criticizes Visa Attempts to Restrict Bankers' Freedom of Choice
NEW YORK, May 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Harvey Golub, chairman and chief executive officer of American Express Company (NYSE: AXP), today invited U.S. banks to join American Express in issuing consumer and corporate cards on the company's worldwide network. The decision to open the American Express network represents a significant new effort to expand American Express' franchise through partnerships with banks and other financial organizations.
