INTRODUCTION
Harmonic generation through the interaction of high power lasers with plasmas has been the subject of many experimental and theoretical studies (1-12) beginning with the work by Burnett at al. (1) in the late 1970's, using [CO.sub.2] laser. During the last recent years, this area of research has become more active for at least two reasons.
