HOVERCRAFT hero Scott Tilley overcame engine gremlins at the weekend to move within striking distance of the national championship leader.
The Whittlesey wonder, racing on his home circuit at Bank Farm, finished round five of the Hovercraft Club of Great Britain Championship in second place despite a problem with his lift engine in race three.
The 28 year-old said: "I had a slight problem with my lift motor in the third race which meant I finished well down the field. But I managed to get it sorted and win the final race which gave my points total a huge boost to end up second."
