WHITTLESEY wonder Scott Tilley overcame a tense final round of the National Hovercraft Championships to claim the title in his first season at Formula Two.
Tilley went into the final round at Jakes' Place, Hinckley knowing that he needed to finish at least fourth in the final race of the day to guarantee the title.
He said: "Although I had won the first three races, the final race was worth double points, so if I crashed or had mechanical problems and didn't do well I knew I could be overtaken in the title race."
But there were no gremlins or accidents for Tilley to worry about. He came home in second place which not only secured him first ...
