A DEPLETED Peterborough Athletic Club squad battled hard to finish third in the Eastern Young Athletes League at Picketts Lock.
In wet and windy conditions, they produced several good individual displays with versatile youngster Sean Band edging nearer to the two-metre barrier to win the Under 17 high jump with a personal best of 1.90m.
The 16 year-old also added the javelin.
The Under 13 boys were in fine form with Joel Grenfell just short of five metres with an excellent long jump and also winning the 100m, where 200m winner Jake Berney took the B-string.
