Wang Thai's new restaurant at the V&A Waterfront has a cosmopolitan sophistication. It's a breath of fresh air; a needed break from the onslaught of pretentious Asian fusion restaurants that pervade many of the world's nouveau, super chic shopping centres.
My last dining etiquette blunder occurred at a sushi stand in a London shopping mall two months ago: I made the mistake of asking if the package of 8 pound California rolls came with complimentary Miso soup. The waitress noisily exhaled and murmured an annoyed "No", she then proceeded to deliver a hammering tirade about "customers who never read the menu correctly".
