Revenues at the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) are on the rise. They soared to $322 million in 1995, from $278 million in the previous year and $217 million in 1993. The figures are welcome news for a company that had seen its revenues decline sharply in the period 1989-1992.
The surge in company earnings is coming more from solid returns from the sale of diammonium phosphate (DAP) produced at its Aqaba fertiliser plant than any improvement in rock phosphate prices, says JPMC managing director Samih Madaneh.
