A LOCAL man's fight to get the Union Flag flying from all public buildings throughout England has gone as far as Westminster.
Last week, Peter Makin was in the Houses of Parliament to secure the support of MPs, including Dennis Skinner and Austin Mitchell.
Peter, who was a guest of Dewsbury MP Shahid Malik, said he had already received strong support from Mr Malik.
Peter, formerly of Westtown, said: "He agrees we should be proud to fly the flag and has spoken to a number of MPs on my behalf to get their support."
Peter has already persuaded a number of local authorities to fly the flag permanently, including Kirklees, Bradford, Leeds ...
