THE Orchestra of Opera North brings romance to Huddersfield Town Hall later this month.
On Thursday, April 26, the orchestra will perform three classic works from the late romantic period.
The evening begins, at 7.30pm, with Sibelius's epic tone poem, En Saga.
Carl Nielson's Flute Concerto is widely regarded as one of the finest works in the repertoire for the instrument. Kevin Gowland, former principal flute with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, under Sir Simon Rattle, and now principal flute with the Orchestra of Opera North, will perform this evocative piece which was born out of the Danish composer's love of wind instruments.
