HOME and away wins over Stoke in the past week have boosted Berwick's chances of a first-ever league title in their 37-year history.
The Kirkland Carpets Bandits beat the Potters 51-39 at Shielfield on Wednesday and then followed it up with a 49-46 success at Loomer Road on Sunday which took an ecstatic promoter Peter Waite a step closer to his dream.
Waite had predicted a fortnight ago that Berwick needed to win all their remining home fixtures and also record victories at Hull, Stoke and Workington if they were to give themselves a serious chance of finishing top of the Premier table.
